Day 1 Friday USA / Delhi
Depart USA for Delhi, India.
Day 2 Saturday Arrive Delhi
Upon arrival at Delhi, your tour guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Check-in your hotel and rest. Delhi, the capital of India, has been the seat of power of a number of dynasties – the Rajputs, the Afghans, the Turks and the Mughals who continued their imperial line until the British. Scattered over are surviving ruins, remnants of mighty edifices, tombs of warriors and saints, which in an impressive sense of magnificence are memorials not of a single city but of supplanted nations.
Day 3 Sunday Delhi - Agra B,
After breakfast, you will tour both the New and old Delhi, where you will visit Rajghat, India Gate (the war memorial) and Presidents House (From outside) Lotus temple - this distinctive lotus shaped marvel in Marble is a symbol of peace, Qutub Minar- is the tower of victory started by Qutub-Ud-Din-Aibak in 1199AD upon becoming sultan of Delhi. In the afternoon, you will be driven to Agra. On arrival, you will check into the hotel.
Day 4 Monday Agra B,
Visit Taj Mahal early in the morning. With its incredible lacy white grandeur the Taj Mahal is perhaps the most perfect architectural monument in the world. To the poet Tagore it was a "tear on the face of eternity". In memory of his wife the great Mughal emperor Shah Jehan constructed this most extravagant and incomparable monument built for love. Amazingly graceful from any angle, it is the close up detail, which is really astounding. After breakfast at hotel, you will then proceed to visit Agra Fort, which is situated on the banks for the river Yamuna, another monumental mission accomplished by the great Mughal visionary Emperor Akbar. His son and grandson added to this imposing structure during their rule. The Palaces, mosques and audience halls contained within its massive wall of red sandstone are perfect examples of blending Islamic and Hindu traditions.
Day 5 Tuesday Agra - Jaipur B,D,
After breakfast in the hotel, you will be driven to Jaipur, en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned red sandstone city built in the 16th century by the Mughal Emperor Akbar, one of India’s greatest rulers. Upon arrival at Jaipur, you will check into the hotel and then experience the carpet weaving, the block printing demonstration and the Turban wearing which plays a vital role in the Rajasthani life. Rest of the day is free at leisure or you may opt out to go shopping. In the evening, you will enjoy a local Rajasthani dinner.
Day 6 Wednesday Jaipur B,
The day begins with a visit to the Amber fort, the former seat of the Rajput rulers of Jaipur. Ascending the fortress seated on the elephant (subject to availability), wander around the beautiful palaces and visit the Shiladevi temple with its exquisite marble carvings and silver door. Afternoon visit the Pink City which includes Hawa Mahal: the palace of winds (Photo-stop), Jantar Mantar: the open-air royal observatory, with gigantic, astronomical instruments; and the City Palace Museums which contains the original collection of the Maharajas of Jaipur. In the evening, you will watch a Gem-cutting & polishing demonstration as Jaipur is one of the world’s most noted gem producers. Thereafter enjoy Rickshaw ride thru old part of Pink city.
Day 7 Thursday Jaipur - Pushkar B,
After breakfast, you will be driven to Pushkar. Upon arrival, check in your hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit Bazaar and temples. Then attend a special Pooja ceremony on Ghat with Hindu priest.
Day 8 Friday Pushikar - Udaipur B,
Today you will be drive to Udaipur, known as the “city of lakes”. One of the most romantic places in India, it is situated around the shimmering clear blue water lakes, which whisper the mood of a bygone era. The city also has beautiful palaces: the Jpg Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appears to rise as if from the blue waters of the lake Pichola. In the evening, you will take a boat ride at Lake Pichola and visit the Jap Mandir Island.
Day 9 Saturday Udaipur B,D,
Today’s sightseeing includes: City Palace on lake Pichola; Sahelion- Ki -Bari, the "Garden of the Maids Honor" and Jagdish temple. City Palace, once the home of Mewar’s rulers, is now a museum. It consists of several flawlessly integrated palaces, which overlook the clear blue of Lake Pichola. Sahelion-ki-bari (Garden of the Maids Honor) is the scene of royal parties for centuries. In the evening, you will enjoy a local special dinner at Rajbangh.
Day 10 Sunday Udaipur - Jodhpur B,
After breakfast, you will leave Udaipur for Jodhpur, en-route visiting the famous temples at Ranakpur. The temples are situated in the remote and peaceful Aravalli valley. The most famous is the Adinath temple, beautifully crafted and well-kept marble edifice, which 29 halls supported by 1444 pillars, no two of which are alike. Jodhpur echoes with tales of antiquity in the emptiness of the desert. The massive 15th century Mehrangarh For looms on the top of a rocky hill, while the graceful palaces, forts and temples strewn throughout the city bring alive the history grandeur, exquisite handicrafts, folk dances, music and the brightly attired people lend a romantic aura to the city.
Day 11 Monday Jodhpur - Jaisalmer B,
In the morning, you will visit the imposing Mehrangarh Fort, which sprawls along the top of a steep escarpment. It is a fine example of Rajput architecture. The fort museum has the Maharaja’s private collections of art and artifacts. You will continue to Jaisalmer in the afternoon. Upon arrival, check in your hotel.
Day 12 Tuesday JAISALMER B,
Jaislamer is a unique architectural masterpiece; a magical sandstone city unlike any other in India. Much as in the Shekhawati region, the wealth generated by their taxes was used to decorate the havelis of the wealthy Jain businessmen. Where frescoes satisfied the Shekhawats, in Jaisalmer power was expressed by the construction of mansions whose soft sandstone facades were embellished with intricate, almost lacelike carvings. This morning, you will visit Jaisalmer Fort & Havelis - Patwon ki Haveli, Salim Singh ki Haveli, Nathmal ki Haveli, Gadi Sagar Lake & Tank. The Jaisalmer Fort is the world's only inhabited medieval fort, its families living in homes they have colonized for more than 800 years. Built entirely from yellow sandstone, the fort rises like a giant sandcastle from its desert surrounds, with great views from the tiny guesthouses that lie within its ramparts. In the afternoon, you will take an excursion to visit sand dunes & camel ride for sunset viewing.
Day 13 Wednesday Jaisalmer - Bikaner B,
After breakfast, you will be driven to Bikaner. Upon arrival, check in your hotel. Later visit a Camel Breeding Farm. Bikaner is a medieval flavored city set along the old caravan route, which linked Central Asia & North India with the Gujarat seaport. Bikaner takes its name from Rao Bikaji, the sixth son of Rathore Rajput
Day 14 Thursday Bikaner - Mandawa B,
You will visit Junagarh Fort, one of the finest of Rajput monuments, before you depart for Mandawa. The town of Mandawa emerges like a mirage. A medieval fort (dated around 1750) gradually rises on the horizon. Te mandwa bazaar has many painted houses, parts of which have now been turned into curio shops. After check in your hotel, you will take a walking tour of the fresco & Havelis of Mandawa.
Day 15 Friday Mandawa - Delhi B,
After breakfast, you will be drive to Delhi for your flight return home.
