TRIP ITINERARY |
Day 1 Monday Los Angles
/ Bangkok
Your holiday beings as you board Northwest
Airlines wide-cabin 747 jetliner to fly to
Bangkok, Thailand.
Day 2 Tuesday Arrive Bangkok
A warm welcome awaits you in Bangkok, “Land of
Smiles”, as you meet your tour guide at the
airport and are escorted to your hotel.
Day 3 Wednesday Bangkok / Rose Garden B, L
Your tour guide will pick you up from your
hotel and drive you across the Chao Phraya
River to Don Wai, a lively morning market
along the Ta Chin River. Board a wooden barge
and cruise along the Chin River to the Rose
Garden Aprime Resort. Join a Thai cooking
class and receive an apron as a souvenir. In
the afternoon, join the cultural show at the
Rose Garden Village. The show is a colorful
presentation of traditional dances, sports and
ceremonies. The rest of the afternoon is at
your leisure.
Day 4 Thursday Rose Garden / Damnoen Saduak
Floating Market / Kanchanaburi B
After breakfast at hotel you will visit the
Phra Pathom Chedi, one of the largest stupas
in the world, and then continue to Damnoen
Saduak Market, where vendors hawk their goods
along the canals from produce-laden skiffs.
Take a motorcoach to Kanchanaburi and visit
the Burma-Thailand Railway Station Museum and
the famous Bridge over the River Kwai. Board a
local train for the exiting ride on this
famous Railway. Transfer to your hotel by
long-tail boat. The afternoon is at leisure.
Day 5 Friday Kanchanaburi / Ayutthaya B
After breakfast at ate hotel. You will take an
excursion to Ayutthaya, the former capital of
Siam from 1350 – 1767.
Day 6 Saturday Ayutthaya – Bangkok B
Wake up early to visit the morning market to
buy fresh goods and then donate them to the
monks. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Take
a boat trip to Bang Pa In and then visit the
Royal Summer Palace. Transfer back to your
hotel in Bangkok,
Day 7 Sunday Bangkok / Yangon B
After breakfast at the hotel, you are
transferred to the airport for your flight to
Yangon, capital of Myanmar. Upon arrival you
will visit Shwedagon Pagoda. This pagoda dates
back about 2,500 years and was built to house
eight sacred hairs of the Buddha. You will
also visit the octagonal-shaped Sule Pagoda
and then stroll along the Kandwgyi (Royal)
Lake before check-in to your hotel.
Day 8 Monday Yangon / Bagan B
This morning you will take a flight to Bagan,
a city dotted with thousands of 800-year old
temple ruins. First you will visit Shwezigon
Paya whose graceful bell-shaped sputa is a
prototype of all later stupas over Myanmar,
then Gubyaukhyi Temple at Wetkyi-Inn; and then
Anada Pahto, one of the finest, largest, best
preserved and most revered of the Bagan
temples. You will also visit Gubyaukgyi Temple
at Myinkaba, which is famous for its
well-preserved stucco from the 12th century on
the outside walls. The magnificent paintings
dating from the original construction of the
temple are considered to be the oldest
original paintings in Bagan. In the afternoon
you will visit the Manuha Temple and
Shwesandaw Para, where you will have a
magnificent sunset view of Bagan.
Day 9 Tuesday Bagan / Mandalay B
Today the coach will take you to Mandalay via
Popa.
Day 10 Wednesday Mandalay B
Mandalay was the last capital of Myanmar
before the British takeover in 1885. It has
the most important Buddhist monasteries of the
century. You will visit Mahamuni Paya, the
city’s holiest shrine, Shwe In Bin Kyaung, and
then Mandalay Palace. In the afternoon you
will visit Sagaing, the faith center of
Myanmar. The city has more then 6,000 pagodas
and monasteries and over 3,000 monks.
Day 11 Thursday Mandalay B
Today’s excursion will take you to Mingun
where you will have a glimpse of river life,
fishing villages, bullock carts, corn fields
and market boats. You will then visit the
“City of Immortality”– Amarapura.
Day 12 Friday Mandalay / Kalaw B
After breakfast at hotel you will be
transferred to Kalaw.
Day 13 Saturday Kalaw - Pindaya - Inle Lake B
On your way from Kalaw to Pingdaya, sit back
and enjoy the beautiful scenery with fields of
dry-cultivated mountain rice along the way,
and potato fields where the tuber is grown in
red mud mounds. You will visit Pindaya Caves,
with more than 8,000 Buddha images inside.
After visiting a local market and a paper
umbrella factory, and continue your way to
Inle Lake.
Day 14 Sunday Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon B
Today you will take a boat trip on the scenic
Inle Lake. The lake shore and islands bear 17
villages on stilts, mostly inhabited by the
Intha people. Enjoy the spectacular scenery
and observe the skilled fisherman using their
"leg-rowing" technique to propel themselves
around the lake. Visit a local market and
lakeside Intha village before transfer to Heho,
from where you will fly to Yangon.
Day 15 Monday Yangon / Bangkok B
Fly back to Bangkok. Check in at your hotel.
You are on your own to explore Bangkok.
Day 16 Tuesday Bangkok / Los Angles B
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
